HubSpot announced that it has acquired chatbot startup Motion AI.
Motion AI launched in 2015 and provides an editor for chatbots that work on sites, Facebook Messenger, SMS and Slack, no coding required. Even before the acquisition, the tool was already integrated into HubSpot Free CRM.
The entire Motion AI team, including CEO David Nelson and founder, will be joining HubSpot. The companies also said next week they will be sharing more details.
“It’s impossible to ignore the impact of chat and messaging, not just on how B2B companies function, but on society as a whole,” explained HubSpot CEO Brian Halligan said from the acquisition statement. “We’re in the midst of a massive shift as companies embrace this new platform and customers come to expect more immediate, always-on communicating from brands.”
HubSpot (which gained sales AI startup Kemvi few months ago) is not sharing the financial details of the deal. Motion AI has raised funding from Charge Ventures, Crush Ventures and others.
